Maine Made

Shops and Local Craftspeople
We have some very talented artisans that regularly set up on the library lawn a couple times a month on Wednesdays. You may also find some at craft fairs at the farmer’s market on the Boothbay Common. The farmer’s market is on Thursdays and the craft fairs are usually on the weekends.
  • Ann Hedgecock is a potter from East Boothbay. In addition to seeing her at the craft fairs, you can also visit her studio.  I have one or two pieces for sale that I think have a local flavor. If you are interested in purchasing them just let me know.
  • Villard Studios is down at the Chowder House shops. They have beautiful wood block prints from Maine and France.
  • Sherman’s has a great selection of note cards and calendars from Maine artists.
  • Mung Bean has hand crafted items from Maine and the US.  The are on Townsend Ave just before Grover’s Hardware.
  • You can find locally made baskets at the farmer’s market and at the library lawn Wednesday fairs.
  • Just a hop, skip, and a jump down the road you will find Abacus.  Don’t miss it!
  • Gleason Gallery, 31 Townsend Ave.
  • Boothbay Region Art Foundation, catch the first Friday art walk.

Maine Made
  • Trillium Soaps are made in Rockland but are sold locally at the Footbridge Gift Shop. These are the soaps we stock in our rentals.
  • Devenney Pottery in Jefferson, ME. These are the beautiful sea blues and greens pottery that I have in the display cupboard in the Captain’s Quarters.
  • Elizabeth Louden Pottery can be found in Bath the Markings Gallery and at the Portland Potter’s Market. I have some of her pieces in my personal collection.
  • Kate Nelligan is in Kennebunkport and online. You can also find her work at the Salty Lobster in Freeport.
  • Fish House Designs are whimsical wall art.  You can also find them in Kennebunkport.
  • Sheepscot River Pottery is worth a stop.  They are on route 1 in Wiscasset. You can also find them online.
